The BAMF informs: Inclusion of the target country Syria in the REAG/GARP 2.0 programme

13 January 2025

Following on from our information from 02.01.2025, we can inform you that regular processing of applications for subsidized, voluntary departures to Syria as part of the REAG/GARP 2.0 programme is now possible via the online application module (OAM).

In order to ensure a smooth transition and to be able to complete departures that are already in preparation and the associated refinancing applications, refinancing for departures to Syria organized by the state offices is still possible up to and including 31.03.2025.

Corresponding refinancing applications can subsequently be submitted via the mailbox mentioned below by 31.05.2025 at the latest. After that, the refinancing process for Syria will be discontinued and voluntary departures will be processed exclusively via the REAG/GARP 2.0 programme.

An updated information sheet with further information on the refinancing procedure in 2025 will be available in the login area and on the Federal Office website shortly.

For the destination country of Yemen, the regular refinancing procedure still applies until further notice. If there are any changes here, the Federal Office will inform you accordingly.

If you have any questions about the procedure described above or about the refinancing of voluntary departures in general, you can send them as usual to the mailbox refinanzierung-ausreise@bamf.bund.de .
