The BAMF informs: Lifting of the IOM suspension of the states of Afghanistan, Eritrea and Libya in the OAM
On 18.10.2024, we informed you that the target countries of the refinancing process are to be gradually integrated into the REAG/GARP 2.0 programme. A first, important step has now been taken. The IOM's block on further processing of applications for the target countries Afghanistan, Eritrea and Libya in the OAM has been lifted. This means that applications for assisted, voluntary departures to the target countries mentioned can now be processed regularly via the OAM.
In order to ensure a smooth transition and to complete any processes that may already be in preparation, refinancing of departures to the target countries mentioned above organized by the state offices is still possible until 31.03.2025. Corresponding refinancing applications can subsequently be submitted by 31.05.2025 at the latest via the mailbox below. After that, no pro rata refinancing for voluntary departures to the target countries Afghanistan, Eritrea and Libya is possible.
The transition phase described here will also be listed and explained in more detail in the information sheet for the refinancing procedure in 2025. As soon as this has been completed, this document will be made available to you on https://www.ReturningfromGermany.de.
For the target countries of Yemen and Syria, the regular refinancing procedure still applies until further notice. If there are any changes for these target countries, the Federal Office will inform you in good time. Due to the dynamic developments, however, the Federal Office is currently unable to give a specific time horizon here.
If you have any questions about the procedure described above or about the refinancing of voluntary departures in general, you can send them as usual to the email address refinanzierung-ausreise@bamf.bund.de.
