New Project: URA Albania
The reintegration project “URA Albania" (Brückenkomponente Albanien) will start work in Albania on April 1, 2021.
On April 1, 2021, the reintegration project “URA Albania”, financed by the federal government and twelve federal states, will start work in the Albanian capital Tirana and support returnees in stabilizing themselves after their arrival in Albania and laying the foundations for sustainable reintegration. For this purpose, the bridge component offers personal support and a wide range of benefits in kind that are tailored to the individual needs of the returnees, especially in the often very demanding phase immediately after their return.
The project is based on the model of the reintegration project "URA" and is supported by the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF) and twelve federal states - Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria, Berlin, Brandenburg, Bremen, Lower Saxony, North Rhine-Westphalia, Rhineland-Palatinate, Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, Schleswig-Holstein and Thuringia - financed and implemented on site by the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) GmbH.
The bridge component is part of a series of other cooperation projects between BAMF and GIZ and illustrates the increased cross-departmental and federal cooperation in the area of voluntary return.
