The "Voluntary Return Option" project says goodbye after 6 years

In 2018, the International Organisation for Migration (IOM), the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF) and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH joined forces in the "Voluntary Return Option" (OFR) project to present their complementary return and reintegration services, highlight synergies and promote professional exchange in the field of voluntary return. The project was based on an interministerial return initiative of the Federal Ministry of the Interior and Homeland (BMI) and the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

At the turn of the year 2023/24, the "Voluntary Return Option" project came to an end, as after six successful years the goal of demonstrating the interministerial coherence of the BMI and the BMZ in the area of return and reintegration was achieved.

The OFR project team would like to take this opportunity to say goodbye and thank you for your keen interest in the OFR formats.
